Caring For Our Community

Efficient, friendly, and caring. Thats Bowie Health Center, an acute medical facility serving the Bowie/Crofton area and surrounding communities with the finest in urgent/emergency medical care and diagnostic testing.

Open daily from 8 a.m. to midnight, the Center brings together a highly skilled staff of board certified physicians, registered nurses and experienced laboratory technicians, and X-ray technicians. This talented team of caring professionals is dedicated to serving the medical needs of individuals of all ages.

At all times the Center maintains close working relationships with approximately 230 doctors from the surrounding area for any necessary consultation or follow-up treatment. In addition, it enjoys the full support of area hospitals in the event that continuing recovery requires hospitalization.

Other services provided for the community include treatment of job-site injuries covered by workmans compensation; a doctor referral hotline; and CPR and babysitting classes.

The Bowie Health Campus also offers a Dimensions Surgery Center which is located in the west wing of the Mullikin Medical Center. The Center provides same day, outpatient care for surgical procedures such as cataract removal, endoscopy, orthopedics, podiatry, and plastic surgery.

Urgent/Emergency Medicine: Our Specialty

Bowie Health Center is a modern, full-service treatment facility for all types of routine injuries and sicknesses as well as minor traumas. Each of our attending physicians is a board certified specialist, with extensive training in emergency medicine. Each is also trained and certified in Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS). They are assisted in providing the highest quality medical care by a team of registered nurses, laboratory technicians and X-ray technologists.

Urgent/emergency treatment is provided to some 16,500 patients each year. Although most care is rendered to adults and children for relatively minor injuries (cuts, burns, sprains, broken bones, bruises, rashes, fevers, infections, etc.), about one quarter of those seen are treated for traumas, severe lacerations, heart attacks and other life-threatening conditions.

The most current therapy, including the use of blood clot dissolving drugs is provided for heart attack victims. And for quick, accurate evaluation of chest pains, complete EKG testing and cardiac monitoring are available.

Bowie Health Center Foundation

The Bowie Health Center Foundation is a group made up of volunteers and local business people that dedicate their time and money to enhance the services provided to the community. The funds that are raised are used to construct new buildings and buy new medical equipment to make the Bowie Health Campus a state-of-the-art community facility.

Ready for the New Millennium

To keep pace with the dynamic growth of the surrounding community, the Bowie Health Center has expanded and is now a full fledged medical complex. It is located on a beautifully landscaped 50-acre lot known as the Bowie Health Campus. The campus is equipped with modern medical office suites and provides services such as assisted living, same day surgery, emergency, long-term care and rehabilitation.
