Each is also trained and certified in Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) and Advanced Trauma Life Support (ATLS). They are assisted in providing the highest quality medical care by a team of registered nurses, laboratory technicians, and x-ray technologists. Emergency treatment is provided to some 15,500 patients each year. Although most care is rendered to adults and children for relatively minor injuries (cuts, burns, sprains, broken bones, bruises, rashes, fevers, infections, etc.), about one quarter of those seen are treated for traumas, severe lacerations, heart attacks and other life-threatening conditions. The most current therapy, including the use of blood clot dissolving drugs, is provided for heart attack victims. And for quick, accurate evaluation of chest pains, complete EKG testing and cardiac monitoring are available.
