13 Year-old Sniper Victim's Heroes Among Those Honored at Prince George's Hospital Center Service Awards Ceremony
WHAT:
Prince George's Hospital Center will host a Heroes in Healthcare Ceremony and Reception at its Service Awards celebration.
WHO:
Dimensions Heroes in Healthcare, invited honorees include:
- Dr. Thomas Lyons, Dr. Vincent Sayan, Dr. Maria Escalera, Monica Rupp, R.N., Grace Harbour, R.N., and other heroes from the Bowie Health Center and Dimensions Surgery Center who cared for 13-year old sniper victim Iran Brown.
- Ada Ezeani, Occuptional Therapist, who while driving home from work witnessed a pedistrian struck by a vehicle and admistered first aid to the victim until ambulance arrived. Ms. Ezeani later became the victim's occupational therapist.
- Roxanne Trosky, Respiratory Therapist, on her drive into work came upon a man trapped in a burning truck. Ms. Trosky rescued the man from the truck and administered CPR until further help arrived.
- Michele Larson, R.N., is being recognized as our "angel" in healthcare, for her continual excellence and care of our cardiac rehabilitation patients. Ms. Larson's expertise and compassion has motivated and mended many heart patients.
- A special presentation will be made to the Prince George's County Fire Department for their rapid response and assistance during a one-day oxygen crisis in Dec. 2002.
- Following the Heroes in Healthcare presentation Prince George's Hospital Center will honor employees with 1, 3, 5, 7, 10, 15, 20, 25, 30, 35, and 40 years of service.
