Bowie Health Center Screenings/Tests Cholesterol - a blood test to determine your total cholesterol count. Glucose - a blood test to measure blood sugar levels, which is one indicator of diabetes risk. Blood Pressure - a screening test for how much pressure is exerted by blood circulating against the walls of the arteries. EKG and Cardiac Consultation - an electrocardiogram which provides a baseline screening of heart health by measuring electrical activity in the heart. A board certified cardiologist will review results with you and answer any questions you may have. Hearing - a screening with an audiometer to measure hearing deficiencies. Vision and Glaucoma - a visual acuity measurement, for example 20/20; and a "puff of air" screening to measure the eye's internal pressure, one indicator of glaucoma risk. Skin Cancer - a visual exam of any particular mole or lesion that concerns you. Oral Cancer - a visual exam of the inside of the mouth, tongue, palate, and throat. Prostate Cancer - both a PSA (prostate specific antigen) blood test and a physical rectal exam by a board certified urologist are available to screen for prostate health. Lung Function screening test to show how the lungs are working. Participants will be given a copy of their scan to show to their primary care physician. Osteoporosis - a bone density screening of the heel of the foot, which is one indicator of osteoporosis risk. Spinal Nerve Reading - a chiropractic screening of the thermal asymmetries along the spine, which is an indicator of overall health and well-being. Stroke - a non-invasive doppler (ultrasound) of the carotid arteries in the neck and an ankle pressure to measure arterial blood flow, which is one indicator of stroke risk. Kidney Disease - a four-part screening to assess risk factors of kidney disease, including blood pressure, blood glucose, urine, and consultation. Consultations Neck and Back Pain Assessments - with an orthopaedic specialist from The Spine & Joint Center. Prescription Analysis - by a licensed pharmacist, who will answer your questions about any medications you may be taking. For best results, bring a list of your prescription medications, including dosages. Mental Health, Anxiety, Substance Abuse, Depression, Stress - a risk assessment by Behavioral Health professionals. Internal Medicine - consultations with Bowie Internal Medicine physicians, who will also offer a heel bone density screening. Podiatry - a screening exam of the feet by a board certified podiatrist. Women's Health - Professionals will answer your gynecological, pregnancy-related, and women's health questions. Massage Therapy - free seated massage by licensed massage therapists.
