![]() Auxiliary and VolunteersLaurel Regional Hospital Auxiliary and VolunteersOn January 28, 1970, eight years before Laurel Regional Hospital opened its doors, 40 women came together to form what is known today as the Laurel Regional Hospital Auxiliary, Inc. In June 1970, the Auxiliary held the first of many fund-raisers to benefit the newly planned hospital. Since its inception, the Auxiliary has been committed to one goal - to build and support its community hospital. Auxilian fund-raising efforts have helped to purchase many pieces of necessary hospital equipment. Monies are raised from the Auxiliary-run gift shop and thrift shop and a variety of fund-raisers held throughout the year. Our community volunteers are an important resource to the hospital. Laurel Regional Hospital has over 280 volunteers who donate over 47,000 hours a year. Volunteers can be found at the information desk, in the gift shop, and helping patients throughout the hospital.
